Creating an Excel template will save you time and allow to have a standard for worksheets that you can use over again without having to reformat the information. I have edited the Monthly College Budget template for a personal monthly budget. This template has some good features that with charts and flexibility to modify as you need.

1. Select File  FileExcel

2. Select New NewExcel

3. Choose a template from category “Budget”  NewTemplate 

MoCollegeBudget

4. Select Create to open the template as a workbook.

5. Edit as needed, then Save the workbooks as template.

6. Select File > Save As

SaveAsExcel

Enter File Name and select the format for the file.

7. Select Excel Template   SaveAsTemplate

Your new template will be saved under My Templates with the .xltx extension.
